(as of 10/13/25)
5th place vs 6th place, this is a must win game to have a shot at 4th place and a playoff spot. We beat them 21 to 8 last time. This is our first game with the new uniforms, lets see if they can bring us some luck.
Swell bar won 25- 5.
No home runs, no strikeouts, no landed can flips.
A battle for 4th place and a playoff spot. The 2-5 Beers are looking for revenge from a week 3 loss of 7 to 5.
Son's of pitches won with a walk-off single in the bottom of the 7th, 14 to 13.
The Beers scored 5 in the first, and held SOP to 3, it was a long battle, in the 7th inning with the game tied, the Beers didn't score any runs. In the bottom of the 7th SOP just needed one to win, and they did just that.
Several landed can flips post-game:
Jeff (called Obi)
Tristan (called Jeff)
Chris (called Tristan)
Hanley (called Hanley)
Strikeout by Shahil.
Misfits won 20 to 13 in 6 innings. The defense for the Beers could have been better and the bats for the misfits were decent. The Beers offense was lead by a Justin Green 3-run homerun in the first. We had substitute appearances from Ben Altman and Cam Boychuck in the outfield.
This is a rematch from week 1, where we lost a close one. The Beers have the home-field advantage but are missing a few key players. Jeff Mena is out for two weeks due to a dog attack, and Justin Green is out for personal reasons. The Beers look to keep their winning streak alive and extend it to three, while the Avengers are coming off a big win vs Sons of Pitches.
The Avengers came ready to play, they had 10 players at the start of the game, we've used to playing them short handed. They scored several runs each inning and score 10 in the 6th. The Beers played good defense, but the hits were non-stop for the Avengers. The Beers offense scored 9, scoring a few runs per inning. "Oh no! We suck again!"
Dusty Ol' Mitts moved up from the lower division after going undefeated in the spring. They're 2 - 2 entering this week and are a well rounded ball team. Boathouse is coming off its first win with an Offensive thunderstorm scoring 21 runs.
In a dog fight that got ugly, the Beers walked off with a win! A tight game from the start, each team scoring 4 in the 1st, then back and forth with one or two runs per inning. Going into the last inning, there was a dispute between the scorekeeper's record and what everyone else had recorded; the Beers were up to bat down 1. Justin Green started the inning with a double, and Mike Ginsburg knocked him in with a line drive right down the left field line. There was a lot of dispute on whether the ball was fair or foul; ultimately, the call was fair! With two outs, Chris Pereira dropped a bomb over the right-center fielder's head, then rounded the bases for the win!
The Beers are on a winning streak, advancing to 2 - 3!

We're playing the new team in the league that's sponsored by another bar in Alameda. Both teams are looking for their first win this season. Big game!!
The Boathouse Beers got their first win of the Fall season, scoring 21 runs and holding the Swell bar Pirates to just 8 runs. The Beers bats came out early and in every inning, scoring 5 in the first, 3 in the second, 4 in the third. Beers defense was locked in with great plays from Eric Greene catching balls over his shoulder and Dan Grossman in Left Field tracking down line drives and a deep fly in foul territory.
Home Run: Sean Hanley
Strike-out: Nigel
Landed Can Flip: Sean Hanley *Foster's Big Can
Coach Hanley will be in Cabo Mexico on Vacation, Assistan Coach Dan Grossman will be calling the shots.
SOP won 7 to 5. No bats, a lot of defense, SOP wins by 2.
Strike-outs: 1 Dylan Dutt
The Misfits brought their Bats to the field, and Coach Hanley left the team's bats at home. Jeremy Wright returned as a sub in Left Field and started the game with a catch against the fence. The Boathouses' first run came in the 4th inning, while the Misfits had scored 7. In the open inning (5th), Misfits pulled away, scoring another 7. In the 6th, Misfits scored another 6 and Boathouse knocked in three. Final score 20 to 4.

The Avengers started the game with 8 players, their 9th showed up in the bottom of the second, just before he was up to bat. We scored 5 in the first, then cooled off offensively. Boathouse played great defense with a few excellent plays by Ben Altman in Right Center. Going into the bottom of the 7th, Boathouse led by 1, 9 to 8. The Avengers walked off with a bases-loaded double hit to right field. Final Score 10 to 9.
