First Annual Beers Banquet

The first annual Beers Banquet was held on 12/5/23 at the Boathouse Tavern.

Awards:
Gold Glove: Eric Greene
Held down shortstop for us all season. Has the cleanest gloves on the team. Played in every game despite having a kid after week 4. Rolls the fattest blunts. 

Landed Can Flips: Mike Ginsburg
Missed the first 5 weeks of the season. Only flipped one can per week. Went 3 for 3! Then the 4th on the 5th flip. Laned #5 after the championship game to take the #1 spot!

Ace: Drew Dutt
First time playing softball & figured out the most important position on the field. 5 strikeouts on the year. 

Hustle Award: Shane McDermott
One of the dirtiest players each week. Skinned his knee three times. You wouldn't think he's fast, but he can really move. 

Most Improved: Shahil Chand
Came to every practice opportunity, worked hard, and was receptive to coaches' & veterans' advice. First-time softball player and finished the season a great hitter and outfielder. 

MVP: Sean Hanley
Awarded by the Assistant Coach, Dan Grossman. 8 Home Runs on the season.  


Honorable Mention Awards:

Veteran: Aaron Angress "Dubs"
Stepped up on day 1 teaching the new players the fundamentals. Leading by example with hustle on the bases, diving head first weekly. Keeping the team pumped up after making big plays. 

Golden Inhaler:  Nigel Singh
Finished the year with 1 home run. He would have had a couple more if he hadn't stopped at each base. 

PG & E  Utility  Player: Dan Grossman
Played the most positions. Catcher, 2B, LF, & RF.

Golden Sombrero: Dylan Dutt
Three strikeouts in one game. 12 strikeouts on the season. 

Best Dressed: Jeffery Mena
Wearing a different jersey each week with a matching hat. Look good, play good. 

Best Performance in a Tutu: Jeremy Wright
After striking out looking in week 9, Jeremy played lights out at 2nd base and hit a home run.
